The Epiphany that started it all:
I’m angry. That’s the truth. Two of the most important women in my life—my mom, Andrea, and my best friend, Debra—both passed away from breast cancer, almost on the same day. They were smart women, and they had access to the right resources. But they didn’t ACT. Were they aware of the risks? Absolutely. Yet, awareness didn’t translate into action.
And here’s what really eats at me: I didn’t act on their behalf either. I stood by while awareness failed to save them. That’s why I’m driven to make sure we do more than just know—we take action.

Chicks Take Action is committed to breaking down the barriers preventing women from getting mammograms. Through accessible mobile mammogram events, educational talks, and support groups, we aim to empower women with knowledge, remove the fear of the unknown, and eliminate financial obstacles. Partnering with local businesses, our ‘Get your damn mammogram’ initiative rewards proactive health steps, ensuring women feel supported every step of the way. Because without action, awareness is irrelevant.

As the founder and president, I found the reason to act after losing two incredible women to breast cancer. I’m a local business owner, a mom, a sister, and a friend. My tribe matters most, and I’m driven to empower women to prioritize their health. With a raw and humorous approach, I’m dedicated to breaking down barriers and encouraging women to take action for themselves and their loved ones. Debra called me “chick,” and I wear that title with pride as I rally others to join the movement. Together, we can make a difference—one mammogram at a time!
